Marta Bashovski is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Campion College, at the University of Regina. She completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Victoria and has also been a visiting doctoral student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Hawai’i.

Rachel Bruzzone
Rachel Bruzzone received her PhD in Classics in 2012 from the University of Virginia with a focus on Ancient Greek literature. She has worked on both Greek and Latin literature, but is especially interested in the Greek portrayal of abstract political entities such as states or warfare.

Barry Cooper, a fourth generation Albertan, was educated at the University of British Columbia and Duke University (PhD, 1969). He has published nearly 200 articles and over 30 books, most recently, Consciousness and Politics: From Analysis to Meditation in the late work of Eric Voegelin.

Johannes Dillinger is professor of early modern history at Oxford (Brookes) and extraordinary professor of modern history and regional history at Mainz. Dillinger’s main research interests include state-building, church history and the history of folk belief, magic and witchcraft.

Or Honig is currently an associate professor of international relations at Tokyo International University. His research has dealt with a variety issues related to terrorism and counter-terrorism. He has also written on Israeli and American security policies, especially in the Middle East context.

Fannie Lafontaine is a professor at the Université Laval and Canada Research Chair in International Criminal Justice and Human Rights. She is interested in challenging that Canada “only” engaged in a campaign of "cultural" extermination against Indigenous peoples, as opposed to genocide.

Tristan Taylor
After completing an MA in Roman Law at the University of Tasmania, Tristan completed his PhD in Classics at Yale University, USA, in 2010. Since then he has taught in both the School of Law and School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New England, Australia.

James A. Tyner is professor of geography at Kent State University and a Fellow of the American Association of Geographers. He is the author of eighteen books, including War, Violence, and Population: Making the Body Count, which received the AAG Meridian Book Award.

Alejandra Vivas
Alejandra grew up in the outskirts of Caracas, Venezuela's capital city. From 2014 to 2017, she majored in Letras at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, where she developed an affinity for political thought. In 2018, she entered the Political Science undergraduate program at the University of Calgary, from where she will be graduating in the fall of 2023.

Alejandra is in charge of web development, logistics and communications for the Oddities of Violence workshop, and is executive producer, recording assistant and sound editor of the podcast series.

Leanna R. Santucci is an Alberta University of the Arts 2022 graduate, finishing with a Bachelor of Design with a minor in hot glass blowing.
